The town/city is positioned mostly inside the Town of Berlin in Green Lake County, with a small portion extending into the Town of Aurora in Waushara County.

According to the United States Enumeration Bureau, the town/city has a total region of 6.36 square miles (16.47 km2), of which, 5.78 square miles (14.97 km2) is territory and 0.58 square miles (1.50 km2) is water. Berlin is served by Wisconsin Highway 49 and Wisconsin Highway 91.

There were 2,296 homeholds of which 31.3% had kids under the age of 18 residing with them, 44.4% were married couples residing together, 11.8% had a female homeholder with no husband present, 5.7% had a male homeholder with no wife present, and 38.0% were non-families.
