The town/city of Delafield is a separate municipality from the Town of Delafield, both of which are situated in township 7 North Range 18 East.

According to the United States Enumeration Bureau, the town/city has a total region of 11.06 square miles (28.65 km2), of which, 9.41 square miles (24.37 km2) is territory and 1.65 square miles (4.27 km2) is water. As of the census of 2010, there were 7,085 citizens , 2,776 homeholds, and 1,858 families living in the city.
