The village is positioned mostly inside the Town of Mukwonago in Waukesha County, with a small portion extending into the Town of East Troy in Walworth County.

Of its population, 7,254 were in Waukesha County, and 101 were in Walworth County.

According to the United States Enumeration Bureau, the village has a total region of 8.11 square miles (21.00 km2), of which, 7.90 square miles (20.46 km2) of it is territory and 0.21 square miles (0.54 km2) is water. As of the census of 2010, there were 7,355 citizens , 2,923 homeholds, and 2,003 families living in the village.
