Schofield is a town/city in Marathon County, Wisconsin, United States.

Schofield is positioned along the easterly shore of Lake Wausau, an impoundment of the Wisconsin River.

Schofield also includes the Eau Claire Flowage and Eau Claire River (not to be confused with the Eau Claire River of Eau Claire, WI), which flows into Lake Wausau at Schofield.

Schofield is directly south of Wausau, and is generally separated from the town/city by the Wausau Downtown Airport.

According to the United States Enumeration Bureau, the town/city has a total region of 2.83 square miles (7.33 km2), of which, 1.76 square miles (4.56 km2) is territory and 1.07 square miles (2.77 km2) is water. As of the census of 2010, there were 2,169 citizens , 994 homeholds, and 549 families living in the city.

There were 1,099 housing units at an average density of 624.4 per square mile (241.1/km2).

The ethnic makeup of the town/city was 90.1% White, 1.2% African American, 0.8% Native American, 5.5% Asian, 0.2% from other competitions, and 2.2% from two or more competitions.

There were 994 homeholds of which 25.3% had kids under the age of 18 residing with them, 38.3% were married couples residing together, 10.8% had a female homeholder with no husband present, 6.1% had a male homeholder with no wife present, and 44.8% were non-families.

The median age in the town/city was 39.1 years.

21.8% of inhabitants were under the age of 18; 8.8% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 28% were from 25 to 44; 26.5% were from 45 to 64; and 14.8% were 65 years of age or older.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2,117 citizens , 965 homeholds, and 551 families living in the city.
